TQL TRAX: How redesigned portal simplifies freight management

Platform connects quoting, tracking, documents and invoicing in one place

TQL TRAX is TQL’s complimentary customer portal that helps shippers manage truckload and LTL freight through online quoting, shipment tracking and real-time shipment visibility. It also provides access to documents, invoicing and other freight management tools, giving shippers a faster, more accurate way to manage daily transportation activity.

Key Points
  • TRAX connects quoting, booking, tracking, documents and invoicing in one platform.
  • Recent updates improve LTL automation, real time visibility and billing workflows across daily freight tasks.
  • Templates, saved commodities, Address Book intelligence and Bulk Upload reduce repetitive work and make high-volume LTL quoting easier.

Managing freight is complicated, but the tools behind it shouldn’t be.

Every shipment comes with its own chain of responsibilities. Shippers must quote the load, book the carrier, track its progress, pull the documents, review the invoice and keep customers updated along the way.

None of these steps are difficult by themselves, yet when they’re scattered across different systems, they slow everything down. It’s easy to spend more time hunting for information than acting on it.

That’s the challenge TQL TRAX was built to solve. With its latest updates, the portal gives shippers a clearer, faster and more intuitive way to manage freight across truckload and LTL.

How does the redesigned TRAX interface help shippers work faster?
The redesigned interface makes it easier to move through everyday tasks with fewer steps, from quoting a load and tendering a shipment to checking tracking updates.

A refreshed Shipment Board appears immediately after sign in, showing active loads right away. It gives shippers a quick snapshot of what is moving, what has delivered and what needs attention. For anyone juggling multiple shipments, that simple change saves time and helps keep priorities clear.

How do the TRAX upgrades impact LTL?
Shippers who move a lot of LTL often deal with repetitive entry. The same addresses, commodities and accessorials need to be entered again and again. TRAX now handles more of that work automatically.

LTL Templates combine commonly used shipment details into reusable lane profiles. For repeat shipments, templates can automatically populate:
  • Pickup and delivery addresses
  • Accessorials
  • Commodities and NMFC codes
  • Class and dimensions
  • Handling units
Templates can also be set as defaults, making it faster to build quotes for frequently used lanes.

The Address Book has also become smarter. TRAX stores location-specific details and applies them automatically when a quote is created, including:
  • Default pickup and delivery locations
  • Accessorials such as liftgate, appointments and limited access
  • Hours of operation
  • Contact information
This reduces manual entry and helps prevent missing details that can lead to rebills.

Saved commodities eliminate another source of repetitive entry. Shippers can store frequently used information, including:
  • Class and NMFC
  • Dimensions and weight
  • Hazmat status
  • Stackability
The information can then populate during quote creation, reducing re-entry and helping improve accuracy.

For shippers quoting multiple LTL lanes at once, Bulk Upload makes high-volume quoting more efficient. Users can download an Excel template, enter shipment information and upload the completed file. TRAX processes each row, flags errors and creates quotes for valid entries on the Quote Board.

Bulk Upload can be especially useful during seasonal surges, bid cycles and multi-location shipping, when dozens of lanes may need to be quoted at once.

Carrier comparison has also been improved. New filters make it easier to narrow options by cost, transit time and liability.

Together, these updates make LTL quoting easier to manage, whether a shipper is quoting one repeat shipment or managing a high volume of lanes.

How does TRAX provide real-time shipment visibility?
TRAX now provides deeper and faster visibility across both Full Truckload and LTL.

Instant updates from 45+ carriers give shippers real-time insight into their freight. Status changes appear as they happen, without waiting for manual updates or checking multiple websites.

For multi-stop loads, TRAX shows exactly how many stops away the freight is, helping teams plan labor, dock schedules and customer communication with more confidence.

Improved map views highlight milestone timestamps, last known location and route progress. Shippers can see where a shipment has been, where it is now and when it is expected to arrive.

Combined with the refreshed Shipment Board, these visibility upgrades help shippers stay ahead of delays and keep their teams informed.

How does TQL TRAX billing improve freight billing and spend visibility?
TRAX makes billing easier to manage with an invoice dashboard that shows what’s due, what’s paid and what’s outstanding.

Shippers can consolidate multiple invoices into one payment, customize reporting fields to review spend the way they prefer and access connected billing and shipment data without digging through emails.

This gives finance teams a clearer view of payments and freight spend without having to piece information together from different sources.

Why do these TQL TRAX updates matter for shippers?
The goal is to spend less time managing the process and more time managing the freight. TRAX reduces repetitive entry, gives teams better visibility into shipments and brings billing information into a single workflow.

Whether a shipper is quoting a single LTL shipment, managing dozens of lanes or tracking a multi-stop truckload, the platform helps teams stay informed and keep freight moving.
